Wat Sri Sunthon

This temple, Wat Srisoonthorn is located in Thalang, a stone’s throw to the north of Phuket Town.The first sight you’ll notice when visiting the temple, is that of a sleeping Buddha of 29 meter height on top of the main temple building. To the locals the temple is commonly known as Wat Lipon, and it consists of nine small buildings, with the main building in the center. You won’t be able to miss it, even from outside the temple. You’ll notice nine other Buddha images once inside the temple, all facing towards the entrance, as a token of a welcoming gesture for guests from near and far.
