About This Attraction

Koh Panyee is a fishing village in Phang Nga Province, notable for being built on stilts by Indonesian fishermen. The population consists of 360 families or 1,685 people descended from two seafaring Muslim families from Java. Koh Panyee is not a constructed tourist trap. It’s an authentic village with history and way of life all its own. You’ll find a dizzying array of souvenir stands, and there’s a increasing number of restaurants catering to visitors. The Island is about 20 minutes by long-tail boat from Surakul pier in Phang Nga province.
